Our Story

Alo Alo Restaurant started its journey in 2005 at the French

School in Harare, Zimbabwe. The name is derived from the

names of the owners Adrian and Lesley Orford, ALO ALO.

Also, the French sound to match the location at the French

School. 6 successful years there and it was time to move out

of the city centre.

The new Alo Alo was built in Arundel Village Shopping Centre

in 2012. The owners are very hands on as Adrian, a wine

connoisseur, runs the front of house and Lesley, the Head

Chef, runs the kitchen.

Their journey has been one of hard work and perseverance

through Zimbabwe’s economic crisis’s and the Covid 19

Pandemic.

Most of the staff have been with the Orfords since its

inception.

Alo Alo in the past years has won many restaurant awards of

which they are immensely proud.
